The Best Album...in the World Ever (Virgin)

Another instalment in the intermittent series. As usual there's one CD jam-packed with the latest glittering disposable pop moments, from the talents of Fat Boy Slim, Blur, The Verve, Brock Landers and old favourites Iggy Pop and The Pixies, and a second CD featuring the just disposable. There are notable exceptions, on the Massive Attack's Teardrop, Lo-Fidelity All Stars, but the majority are duds, Ocean Colour Scene, PF Project, Fat Les and Collapsed Lung. In essence there is probably a single CD's worth of decent tracks diluted with old tracks and dodgy remixes. Sometimes less is more...
