Motorcade - The Automatic window (MTRKD)
Sometimes an album like this comes along and, em, you just can't seem to find the words to describe it. A bit of searching around and it seems, I'm not the only. This album is so ephemeral that it defies description and sounds so instantly familiar that comparisons don't come to mind.
This is all fine for the listener, who can just sit back and enjoy what is a fabulous album, but it's a pain in the ass for a reviewer. This is a slow, melancholic album that's absolutely seductive. They have in the past worked with Tom Mallon of the American Music Club, and have attracted the attention of Mark Eitzel and the Red House Painters' Mark Kozelic, which kind of gives you an idea where their heads are at.
Basically, this is chilled out, melodic music, performed by great musicians and topped with emotive and powerful singing from Mark Lee. This is the kind of music the likes of Coldplay or Starsailor wish they could make. Forget about descriptions, if you like music then check this out.
